The American Cancer Society offers programs and services for cancer patients as well as information and referrals to all types of support services for patients, their families and caregivers - all completely free of charge. Some of the Society’s programs and services: 1.800.ACS.2345: Trained cancer information specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions about cancer and link callers with resources in their community. Look Good Feel Better: Community-based, free, national service that teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. All participants leave with a cosmetic bag full of skincare products. Call (415) 454-8466 for list of dates Reach to Recovery: Breast cancer survivors provide one-on-one support and information to help individuals cope with breast cancer. Road to Recovery: Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society service program that provides transportation for cancer patients to their treatments and home again. Volunteers provide rides for cancer patients for cancer related medical appointments. Specialty Items: The Society provides patients with wigs and related items and can assist in obtaining breast prosthesis for qualifying patients. Wigs, etc. can be picked up free of charge in the Santa Rosa office.
