EyeCare America & EyeCare America Glaucoma Project
Glaucoma Project raises awareness of glaucoma risk factors (family history, race, age), provides free glaucoma educational material and facilitates access to medical eye care. The Seniors Program provides medical eye exams and up to one year of care, often at no out-of-pocket cost for any condition diagnosed during the initial exam. Founded in 1985, EyeCare America is a public service program of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Our mission is to reduce avoidable blindness and severe visual impairment by raising awareness about eye disease and care, providing free eye health educational materials and facilitating access to medical eye care. In addition to our online educational materials, we offer eye care programs for which individuals may qualify.
