Marin County Department of Health and Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services: Long Term Care Ombudsman
The Ombudsman staff monitors the care of people in long-term residential care homes or nursing facilities.
They are trained advocates who are authorized by State and Federal laws to visit nursing homes, residential care and assisted living facilities to ensure that quality care is given to residents and that they are being treated with dignity and respect. Additionally, Ombudsman staff are educated in the rights, issues and needs of long-term care facility residents and the state and federal regulations which govern those facilities. There is no fee for this service. To register a complaint or request services, please call (415) 473-7446.
