Marin County Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services: Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides the following services: Psychiatric emergency response for voluntary and involuntary (W&I Code 5150) clients who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms Crisis stabilization to support the resolution of psychiatric emergencies within 24 hours Evaluation of clients for psychiatric hospitalization or referral to other services CSU screening and intervention services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Length of stay is limited to less than 24 hours. Admissions for hospital inpatient care are arranged as necessary. Referrals are received from all other components of BHRS, other HHS divisions, the County Jail, local police, and from other mental health providers. In addition, families and individuals may request service for themselves.
