CalWORKs is a cash program which aids families with children who are deprived of parental support because of parental unemployment, absence or incapacity. This program provides eligible applicants with cash assistance, a medical card and possibly food stamps. CalWORKs is administered by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services.
