Opportunity for Independence (OFI)

The mission of Opportunity for Independence (OFI) is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental and other cognitive disabilities by developing and providing essential and individualized programs throughout Marin County.
For over twenty years, OFI has been recognized as a premier provider of services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities who need behavioral support. Our relatively small size and the low client-to-staff ratio has made it possible for us to address individual needs and tailor services to our constituents. We currently serve; 5 individuals in our One to One Specialized Day Program; 24 individuals in our community-based day programs; and with some overlap across our day programs, 25 individuals in Supported Living settings across Marin county.
The individuals who are referred to our programs often come to us having failed in other settings, due to their behavioral challenges. Our commitment to working with individuals who have not been able to succeed in other programs has pushed us to find creative ways to accommodate each individual's needs and interests, while offering behavioral tools to help them engage and experience success in integrated settings.
