Jenny Chacòn, MPH joined Marin County’s Health and Human Services (HHS) as the Chief Assistant Director/Chief Strategy Officer in 2018. For the past 18 years, Jenny has championed health equity and wellness for underserved populations through community engagement, policy, program development and budget planning in the non-profit, public health, clinical and health services settings. As Chief Strategy Officer/Chief Assistant Director, Jenny oversees the execution of strategic initiatives outlined in the HHS Operational and Equity Plans and across Marin County. She is focused on strengthening data decision-making, continuous improvement, and community partnerships to improve health equity in Marin.
From 2004-2018, Jenny held various successional positions across various divisions at the San Francisco Department of Public Health (DPH). Prior to joining HHS, Jenny championed the integration of equity into clinical services though quality improvement at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, a $1Billion safety net hospital at DPH.Prior to her work at the hospital, Jenny co-led efforts to develop strategic initiatives and determine priorities for a $400 million budget in the DPH’s Community Program’s Division.From 2015-2019, she served a four-year appointment, by California President Pro Tempore of State Kevin De Leon, on the Professional Fiduciaries Advisory Committee, part of the Department of Consumer Affairs. Jenny holds a Master’s of Public Health Degree from San Jose State University and completed her undergraduate education, from the University of California at Davis.She is also a graduate of Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Disparity Executive Leadership Program.
