First-time homebuyers purchasing a home in Marin can obtain a Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) in conjunction with their first mortgage financing which will provide a significant reduction in federal income taxes for the life of the loan. Maximum income eligibility for 1 and 2-person households is $95,000; for 3 or more it is $109,250. Maximum income limits apply and purchase price of property cannot exceed $400,000.
