The Public Guardian conducts official investigations into conservatorship matters, and serves as the legally appointed guardian for persons who have been determined by the Courts to be incapable of caring for themselves.
Offers a Representative Payee Program, Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Mental health conservatorship and probate conservatorship services.

Application Process:
A referral packet for an LPS conservatorship must be submitted by an approved evaluating facility. A referral packet for a Probate Conservatorship must be submitted with a letter recommending conservatorship by a referring physician.
