Marin Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the County of Marin, 'Marin Housing' is a public corporation authorized to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low and moderate income people. We are empowered to undertake all activities necessary to accomplish this public purpose, including acquiring property, developing housing, issuing tax-exempt bonds, entering into mortgages, trust indentures, leases, condemning property, borrowing money, accepting grants, and managing property. Marin Housing is separate and distinct from HUD, from county government, and from other county and state agencies - much like a special district. The Housing Authority Commission currently consists of seven members - the five members of the Board of Supervisors, and two public housing tenants. Marin Housing operates programs in the incorporated areas of Marin under Cooperation agreements with the local towns and cities. Administers the county's public housing which includes apartment complexes for families and those reserved for seniors and disabled. Information for Section 8 Voucher Program. Basic repair loans for low-income home owners.
