Triple P Positive Parenting Program (Family Support for Parents)

The Triple P- Positive Parenting Program is an evidenced based parenting program aimed to support families by providing psycho-education on child development and offering strategies to address common behavioral problems. Parents can choose from tip sheets, books, DVDs, seminars, discussion groups or one-on-one sessions to arm themselves with the tools that can make parenting a little less ‘trial and error’. Triple P is currently available in Marin in several different formats:
1. Individual Consultation – Typically entails 4 sessions focusing on one or two specific concerns of the parents. The sessions are an hour or less in length, and focus on supporting the parent in working on specific behaviors chosen of interest to the parent.
2. Individual Consultation Brief– Typically 1 session focusing on a specific concern of the parents.
3. Discussion Groups- These two-hour group sessions give parents a chance to explore a particular parenting issue with a small group of other parents and caregivers. Topics include: Dealing with Disobedience, Managing Fighting and Aggression, Developing Good Bedtime Routines, and Hassle-Free Shopping with Children.
4. Seminar Series- This series of three seminars for groups of parents focuses on positive ways to promote children’s development. Topics include: The Power of Positive Parenting, Raising Confident, Competent Children, and Raising Resilient Children.
