Can volunteering with the county lead to paid work?

Volunteering is a great way to make contacts and improve your skills. However, we encourage you to volunteer only if you believe that volunteering for the county would be something you'd enjoy as a complete experience in and of itself. There is always an open, equal opportunity application and recruitment process for paid county positions, so there is never any guarantee that volunteering will lead to paid work.
