County of Marin Health and Human Services

Do I need any special skills to volunteer with HHS?

Answer:

Volunteers receive an orientation to their specific program and will receive “on the job training” to fulfill their role. However, depending on the role in which a volunteer is placed, special skills may be required. The HHS volunteer coordinator can help determine if your skills are adequate for role that interests you. Volunteers are always encouraged to hone, practice, and improve existing skills in their volunteer capacity, and may be able to learn new skills that can be learned and applied independently.
