Patients’ Rights Advocate Services

Community Action Marin provides for the Patients’ Rights Advocate services and is available to assist mental health clients by explaining their legal rights and offering assistance for those involuntarily committed to treatment. They protect the rights of all local psychiatric clients under involuntary treatment status and are available for questions and consultations. The Patients’ Rights Advocate, Esmeralda Garcia, is available to assist mental health clients by explaining their legal rights and offering assistance for those involuntarily committed to treatment. Mental Health and Substance Use Services (MHSUS) changed its name to Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS).  As such, all references in existing departmental policies and procedures to MHSUS can be understood to reference BHRS as well.
