California Vaccine Policy
In September 2025, California updated state law to continue following science-based immunization recommendations developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and other national medical experts. California is also a member of the West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA)—alongside Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii—working together to ensure vaccine policy and public health guidance reflect the best available scientific evidence and protect population health. Vaccine Recommendations by Age
Children and adolescents through age 18 years: Marin County Public Health follows CDPH-recommended immunization of children and adolescents in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics immunization schedule (version September 17, 2025).
Adults age 19 and older: Marin County Public Health follows CDPH-recommended immunization of adults in accordance with the American Academy of Family Physicians immunization schedule (version August 28, 2025).
