Our Work
The Nutrition Wellness Program manages the CalFresh Healthy Living Program (CFHL) funded by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. In an effort to reduce chronic disease, the program utilizes education and policy, systems, and environmental change strategies to create healthy places to live, work and play. The Nutrition Wellness Program supports low-income communities with strategies to increase access to healthy foods, beverages and physical activity through a variety of free services, including:
- Nutrition, physical activity, and garden education classes and events
- Train the trainer workshops for community leaders to teach nutrition education
- Social marketing to help promote healthy communities
