County of Marin Tobacco Prevention Program
The Tobacco Prevention Program (TPP) is Marin County’s state-funded Local Lead Agency (LLA). We educate and support Marin County residents in addressing the negative impacts of tobacco and nicotine products with the support of the following organizations and groups to provide tobacco prevention presentations, outreach, health promotional events and communications to the residents of Marin County:
Local Nonprofit Bay Area Community Services
- The Marin County Office of Education
- The Smoke Free Marin Coalition
- Other community-based organizations
In addition, to education and outreach, the Tobacco Prevention Program staff are responsible for the enforcement of local, state, and federal tobacco control laws in collaboration with local law enforcement, code enforcement and other regulatory partners to protect residents.
The Marin County Tobacco Prevention Program Goals:
- Reduce the availability of tobacco products
- Address complaints about secondhand smoke in multi-unit housing
- Set minimum prices for tobacco products while boosting cessation support
- Engage youth and priority populations in tobacco prevention
- Enforce tobacco control laws
